Common Information About the Rental Process

Driver & Licence Requirements

Must be aged 21 to 75 with a valid licence held for at least 2 years. Provisional, learner or suspended licences are not accepted. International licence holders must provide a passport and visa copy.

Prohibited Use

Vehicles must stay on sealed roads. Travel south of Katherine or outside the NT is not permitted without written approval. Off-road driving, beach access, river crossings and flood zones are prohibited.

Insurance & Excess

Standard insurance included with a $5,500 excess plus admin fee. Optional Reduced Excess of $2,000 plus admin fee for drivers 25+. Young drivers (21 to 24) have an additional $1,000 excess.

Security Bond

A $250 refundable bond is required before pick-up, returned within 10 business days provided the car is returned on time, clean, full of fuel and undamaged.

Distance & Usage

Includes 200km per day. Extra distance is charged at $0.30 per km.

Roadside Assistance

Free in Darwin and Palmerston for mechanical faults. Call-out fees apply outside metro areas.
